Keep up the good work! You look great in this picture- more vibrant, even. It is chilly in Chicago today they are predicting more snow. My tulips are starting to come up in the front yard though, so I am hoping for them to prevail. Two deer were in our backyard the other day. No doubt wondering when their hostas would be back. I just like to see them around.

Brain research - ARTS EDUCATION LINKED TO BETTER BRAIN ACTIVITY

As if we didn't know but isn't it great they have these scientists on our side too.
As reported by The Dana Foundation, 745 Fifth Ave. Suite 500, NY NY 10151 www.dana.org -- a private philanthropy with principal interests in brain science, immunology, and arts education, recently released "Learning, Arts, and the Brain," a three-year, multi-institutional study which finds that early training in performing arts is really good for the brain.

" An interest in performing arts helps develop sustained attention spans, which can improve other areas of cognition.

Links exist between training in music and the ability to manipulate information in both short-term and long-term memory.

Music training also appears to improve kids’ capacity for geometric representation, as well as the acquisition of reading skills.

Acting classes lead to improved memory via better language skills. Dance learning is done through observation and mimicry, and that training appears to improve other cognitive skills."

AND THROUGH GREAT TEACHERS LIKE FRED we all learn to think better and to consider many options and to recognize value, to preserve the earth, to have hope for the future -- and all like that. Right?
